Firstly I'd just like to say I DO NOT recommend buying beauty cosmetics on eBay, especially not from sellers that look as though they sell in bulk. The chances of them being fake is extremely high and a lot of them are selling at near enough the original retail price.
But this isn't the issue I had, I did pick up 2 make-up items from eBay.. I was 100% they were both real as I had seen them on a Blog Sale first and the sellers had both offered me genuine receipts with the products.
The first product I received was something I had been wanting to get my hands on since the collection released way back in October 2010. I missed it and it pretty much sold out everywhere even my CCO and eventually I forgot about it, but I came across an unused one on a blog sale and it was also being sold on eBay. I ended up winning it for something like £8.00 with free p&p which was great.
It was in fact the Cruella Deville Beauty Powder (Her Own Devices) from MAC's Venomous Villains Collection!
My item arrived the day after it was posted out to me which was amazing, the product was exactly as it was described and all-in-all I was very pleased!
On the other hand, the second item was not so pleasing.. To be honest it wasn't in fact the product but the seller.. I had come across the next item in the exact same way so I added the item to my watch list and waited for the bids to go up, whilst doing this I messaged the selling simply saying "Could you confirm this item is 100% Real" Just to be sure. I got no reply, the bid was in the last few seconds and I decided to risk it winning the item for about £7.00 with £2.50 P&P BARGAIN! The item was a NARS Eye-Shadow Duo in EXOTIC DANCE So I again then messaged the seller this time because my Post Address was incorrect as I had moved house and not updated it, I just asked the lady if she could post it to my current address. It was about 2 days later when I got a reply and the exact message was
"The eyeshadow is 100% real, bought from house of fraser. I haven't replied to your messages because I have been busy and I don't appreciate 3 messages in a day with you getting all shirty. You haven't received your item as you won it last night and you am see I have a 7 day handling time before I post it as I am a working mother."
I think this was totally uncalled for as 1. I was just curious 2. There weren't 3 messages and 3. I was not getting 'shirty'
Anyhow I assumed she would be posting out my item to my address and so that was that. In the next few days I had a card put through my door from the Royal Mail just to let me know I had a package waiting for me at the post office (YEEY MY EYESHADOW WAS THERE) As I approached the post office I received a confirmation email on 12th of January when I paid on the 7th (She did have 2 more days to post to me but she was cutting it fine) Anyhow I just assumed that she'd forgotten to click the Confirm Send button and it was in fact at the Post Office, NO WAY I WAS SO WRONG! It was just another package I had been waiting for, sigh:(
So as the days progressed bringing me right up until today the 22nd I had no parcel.. What on earth was she playing at? Surely 2nd Class didn't take this long. Anyway I asked my mum if she would pop down to my old address to see if the parcel was there and yes it was:-) (after hours of waiting for the house-owners to arrive)
So I eventually did get it but I was so angry, I had specifically said not to post to that address and she was also extremely rude. I'll never be buying from her again (she's actually closed her account).
Anyhow here is the product, the shades are absolutely beautiful.. Like I said there was no problem with the item itself just the service. I was appalled because I was paying with my own money and in return I got the service I did!
Have you ever had an experience like this?
